Notice to California Residents

This section applies to California Residents.

The personal information we collect might, depending on the situation, include identifiers, characteristics of protected classifications under California Federal Law, commercial information, internet or other network activity information, geolocation information, audio, electronic, visual or similar information, professional or employment-related information and inferences drawn from any of the information identified above to create a profile about a consumer reflecting the consumer’s preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities and aptitudes. As described in this Notice personal information we collect from consumers might be shared for business or commercial purposes with third parties. You can find more details on this third-party sharing in the ‘Affiliates, service providers and third-party sharing’ section.

We might have disclosed all of the categories of personal information listed above, based on the use case, for a business purpose in the past 12 months.

As a California resident you have certain rights, subject to legal limitations and applicable exceptions, regarding the collection, use, and sharing of your personal information. Those right are in particular:

  • The right to delete

In accordance with applicable law, we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may use an authorized agent to exercise your rights on your behalf. If you are making any of the requests above through an authorized agent, we will request written authorization from you and will seek to verify your identity or we will accept a legal Power of Attorney under the California Probate Code to the authorized agent. We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you.

You can execute your right, including the Do-Not-Sell request at any time by contacting us by sending an email to dataprotection@eaton.com, by calling +1-800-386-1911 or by using this online form.

We will respond to a Request to Opt-Out within 15 days. We will respond to Requests to Delete and Requests to Know within 45 days, unless we need more time, in which case, we will notify you and may take up to 90 days total to respond to your request.

Do Not Track
Some third-party sites do keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. Eaton does not do this on Eaton websites. If you are visiting such sites, some browsers allow you to set the DNT signal on your browser so that third parties (particularly advertisers) know you do not want to be tracked. Visit your browser settings to learn how to set these Do Not Track Signals.

Third parties that have content embedded on Eaton’s websites, such as a social feature or a stock ticker, may set cookies on a user’s browser and/or obtain information about the fact that a web browser visited a specific Eaton website from a certain IP address. Executing Your rights as California Resident

If you are making any of the requests above through an authorized agent, we will request written authorization from you and will seek to verify as described above or we will accept a legal Power of Attorney under the California Probate Code to the authorized agent.
