PDI Releases the Wavestar 500 KVA Mission Critical PDU

RICHMOND, VA., April 1, 2008 – Power Distribution, Inc. (PDI), a leading manufacturer of mission critical distribution equipment for the data center market, announced the addition of the Wavestar Mission Critical 500 KVA power distribution unit (PDU) to its PowerPak line. This new design continues to build upon PDI's 30 year tradition of innovation and represents an industry first with the ability, through the Wavestar monitoring system, to locally display both PDU critical functions and PDI's patented Branch Circuit Monitoring System (BCMS) in a single device. The Wavestar monitoring system can provide these points to the building management system remotely via Modbus or SNMP.

The modular system can be field installed into existing server racks, and the custom integrated systems can be ordered, wired up, and shipped from the PDI factory.

HOWELL, MI., January 31, 2008 – Marelco Power Systems, Inc. a leading designer and manufacturer of custom transformers and other electrical devices for the power control, motion control and alternative energy industries, has been acquired by Palo Alto, California based private equity firm Bertram Capital. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The J Comm^TM BCMS system fits under the raised floor and will monitor current, voltage and other power related measures for up to 168 branch breakers. Power Distribution Inc (PDI) today announced the release of product improvements to three core product lines. PDI has engineered the Wave Star™ communication package, the most advanced communication package in the industry, into its Static Transfer Switch (STS). The Power Distribution Unit (PDU) has been reengineered to incorporate PDI’s Branch Circuit Monitoring System (BCMS) and the new 8212 local monitor as factory installed options. Also, PDI has once again added new features and layouts for its Remote Power Panel (RPP) product which it was the first to introduce to the industry in 1997.
